Will your members of Congress hear from you this August?

  •

    Advocacy Alert
August - it's hot, it's humid, and it's critical to our year-round advocacy strategy to improve the lives of people living with lupus.
Each year, Congress is out of session in August to give Senators and Representatives a chance to return home and hear from their constituents about the issues that matter most to them. The issues that they hear about in August will determine what they do when they return to Washington - so it is vital that they hear from people, like you, who are passionate about the fight against lupus.
When you meet with your members of Congress, you ensure that they know the devastating toll of this disease and what Congress can do to help those who are so bravely living with it.
If you're interested in meeting with one (or all three!) of your members of Congress, complete this form and let us know. Never met with an elected official before? No worries! We'll be with you every step of the way to explain the scheduling process, provide tips on telling your story in an impactful way, brief you on the policy issues to talk about in your meeting, and much more.
From September until the end of the year, Congress will be making several important decisions that will affect people living with lupus, including whether or not to fund lupus research and education programs. Just one 15-minute meeting with one of your members of Congress will make a huge difference - will you help us?
Meet with your members of Congress this August!
