As we prepare for the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I want to take this moment to thank you for your steadfast commitment to solving the cruel mystery of lupus. You are the reason we are getting closer to a life free of lupus.
You have helped accomplish so much this past year:
- You made possible the funding of cutting edge research into anadult mesenchymal stem cell therapy that offers hope to people for whom current medications are not working.
- You made sure that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) heard the voices of those living with lupus at the Patient Focus Drug Development meeting. The FDA is now better prepared to evaluate potential lupus therapies.
- Your support helped us to demand more federal funding for lupus research. We secured $5 million in new funding to establish theLupus Research Program at the Department of Defense (DoD).
- You have helped make our new National Resource Center on Lupus the most trusted and visited site on the web for expert information on all aspects of living with lupus. More than 20,000 people a day visit for the most up-to-date information on lupus available.
