Double Your Impact   MY DAUGHTER MAHLIA WAS JUST SEVEN YEARS-OLD WHEN SHE DEVELOPED A RASH ON HER FACE. Mahlia (R) with her mom Tonika At first doctors thought it was psoriasis, but then Mahlia had other symptoms including extreme fatigue, nausea and other symptoms below the skin that couldn't be explained.  Finally, she was finally diagnosed with lupus. Soon the lupus would also affect her kidneys, a condition known as lupus nephritis.  It was painful to see our little girl suffer so much. What causes pediatric lupus? How can we make this better? How many other children and their families have to see their child suffer?  Through their one-of-a-kind pediatric research program, The Lupus Foundation of America is committed to finding the answers to these questions.  And this month when you make a donation, you will bring us two steps closer to those answers - because thanks to the generosity of the Wallace H.
